An Update about the Kaplan EdTech Accelerator, powered by Techstars
Launched in 2013 as the first corporate-sponsored accelerator focused exclusively on educational technology innovation, the Kaplan EdTech Accelerator, powered by Techstars, hosted 100+ entrepreneurs in 2013 and 2014 who worked together on 22 startups that are seeking to solve challenges in K-12 and higher education, corporate training, and lifelong learning, and improve instructional practices.
Kaplan executives and other industry leaders mentored these companies, helping them hone their products and services, accelerate their growth from concept to implementation, and fulfill a shared commitment to change education and improve student outcomes. Together, our 22 companies have raised more than $15 million and are serving thousands of students today. To learn more about the companies, please visit our Kaplan EdTech Accelerator Alumni page.
We’re extremely proud of what we and our alumni have accomplished. This success is pushing us to pursue new ways to support entrepreneurs to innovate in education.
Kaplan is now running a new venture called Scalebridge, created as a partnership between Kaplan and Charter Schools USA. Scalebridge will focus first on challenges faced by K-12 schools and colleges and universities, and then leverage and combine existing edtech innovations to solve them. It will offer the scale to make many of these solutions workable for educators and their institutions and provide a bridge to test the new solutions in real student settings. Scalebridge is looking to engage entrepreneurs who are ready to scale with leading partners such as Kaplan and Charter Schools USA.
Visit Scalebridge to learn more and join the effort to change education and change how innovation happens, either by proposing an educational challenge or becoming a partner in its solution.
